Subject: Your Appointment As NCSL International Latin American/South American Deputy for Region 2000
Dear Felipe,
It is with great pleasure that I affirm your appointment as Deputy -Latin and South America. Although this appointment must be re-affirmed annually, it is my hope that you will be able to hold this position for the next several years. Continuity of personnel as we expand internationally is, in my opinion, very important.
As outlined in the Long Range Plan that I sent to you, there are a number of longer term issues to be pursued in this region over the next several years:
- Maintain and foster the reciprocal agreements we already have in place with organizations based in this region — CENAM for example.
- Build an effective network of Regional Coordinators. Develop and set minimum standards of performance for them, particularly for the organizing and holding of regional meetings. Through these meetings, stimulate increased NCSL International membership from Latin American and South American organizations and individuals.
- Work to stimulate and to become an integral part of a (new) Latin or South American event, based in its essence on our North American Workshop and Symposium.
- Work in an entrepreneurial manner to develop relationships with other entities and to take advantage of opportunities which will assist the longer term development of a sustained and integral NCSL International presence in Latin and South American metrology.
Thank you for accepting this appointment. I look forward to working together over the next several years to sustain and substantially grow NCSLI's international activities and memberships.
Yours sincerely,
Roxanne M. Robinson
Vice President - International Division
